Imtiaz (IM-tee-oz) means distinct or unique.

While not the easiest name to pronounce, Imtiaz is an apt name for my ADR firm because I offer a distinct and unique ADR experience in a space filled with options.

My diversified background has guided me to the middle.

I’ve represented plaintiffs and defendants. I’ve represented individuals and businesses (large and small). I’ve litigated large scale cases involving hundreds of millions of dollars and small cases involving thousands of dollars (or less) or no money at all. I’ve worked in the public and private sectors in New York City and New Orleans. I’ve been employed by large law firms and have been a solo practitioner.

I have proven experience as a neutral.

I have over twenty years of experience as an attorney in antitrust, business, construction, education, employment, real estate, securities and other areas of law.

I have served as a neutral in personal injury, property damage, employment, and securities cases.

My recent appointment as a neutral by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana for its Streamlined Settlement Program for Hurricane Ida litigation provided me the opportunity to mediate several dozens of hurricane cases.

For the past several years, I have served as a Hearing Examiner for appeals to the Civil Service Commission by employees of the City of New Orleans and Sewerage and Water Board.
